Our membership has reached maximum capacity for the 2008 swim season. The deadline for dues payment has now passed and we are not accepting any more members for the season. Members who have not paid their dues yet, please send in your $40 inactivity fee.

Membership FAQ

The Palisades Swimming Pool Association has been welcoming families since 1969. The facilities include three swimming pools, tennis courts with night lighting available, a picnic area, sports court, and playground. Activities include a swim team and dive team, early bird swim, water aerobics, and several social events.

There is a waiting list for membership. Time on the waiting list is about 3 to 4 years, depending on the number of preceding applicants and the number of vacancies that open. Once a membership is available, the applicant becomes a temporary member. Temporary membership status continues year to year until a bond becomes available (generally another 7-9 years). At that time a temporary member must purchase a bond to continue as a member. A bond currently costs $1,500, payable in two installments and the same amount is refunded whenever the bond is sold back to Palisades.

Membership fees are $400 (bond), $500 (temp members) for families, and $375 (temp) and $275 (bond) for singles.

Membership Cards

Membership cards are not mailed to members. Cards can be picked up at the pool desk any time after the summer season begins Memorial Day weekend. Please bring a photo ID to pick up your cards at the front desk. Families will be issued two cards and
single members issued one card.

Guest Cards

Guest Cards: Guest fees have been increased this year. Members can still use cards that were purchased in the past: each punch on a guest card is worth $1. The guest fees are as follows:

Children pay $2 or 2 punches on weekdays: $4 or 4 punches on weekends. Adults (15 or older) pay $4 on weekdays or 4 punches; $6 or 6 punches on weekends.

Guest cards that were purchased pre-season should picked up at the front desk at the beginning of the season. Members may opt to keep their guest cards on file at the pool desk during the season but are advised to take guest cards home at the end of the
summer. We can not be responsible if cards are lost or misplaced during the off-season. Additional guest cards can be purchased at the desk during the season for $18. Members must register their guests and remain in attendance on the Association’s property during the entire time their guest are on the property.

Membership News

We are excited to welcome members old and new to Palisades this season. The board voted to raise dues this year by $50 for all family memberships and $25 for singles in
anticipation of needing funds for future pool renovations. We were able to make progress in taking applicants off our waitlist and have reduced wait list times on the list.

The pool website www.palisadespool.org was upgraded last year, and this year we will initiate a member listserv. As the summer season approaches, please visit our website
to register for the member listserv. This procedure is the same as many of you have followed to join the listserv at your child’s school. We intend to use the member listserv in the future to distribute information and materials to members such as newsletters and dues statements. For those of you who do not use email, we will still be mailing
materials that you need.

Dues to the Palisades Swimming Pool Association are not tax deductible as charitable contributions for Federal income tax purposes.
